For three quarters of a century, the Jones name has signified imaginative,
well-crafted golf course design. Demonstrating creativity and professionalism
in equal degrees, it was Robert Trent Jones Snr. who shaped the modern craft of
golf course design.
Wisley architect Robert Trent Jones Jnr. carries on this proud tradition and
has expanded his father's legacy. As early as the 1970s, RTJ Jnr. was
introducing new ideas for integrating golf with a wide variety of habitats
while creating courses rich with strategic appeal. Bound by his love for the
game and for nature, he designs extraordinary golf courses by applying his
vision and experience to the unique character of each site.
"Our vision drives us to create courses where nature works in harmony with the
values of the royal and ancient game" RTJ Jnr.
In 1991 the 27hole layout at The Wisley became RTJ's first course in the UK. It
is a magnificent testament to his skill and creativity.
